Weber Family Resource Center

The Weber Family Resource Center is located at  Burch Creek Elementary (4300 Madison Avenue, Ogden).   They follow Weber School District’s calendar schedule. They are open to the public Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on days that school is in session.

The Weber Family Resource Center provides materials for checkout that promote family communication and children’s learning, a wide range of classes for parents/community members,  encourages parents to become more involved in their child’s education and provides information that will help parents connect with additional community resources. They also provide specific ways parents can help their children academically and create a connection between the neighborhood, school, and community that demonstrates a sincere interest in the well-being of children and families.

      Fall 2017 Schedule           Public is Welcome! 

 Busy Little Bees 
These groups for fun and learning include preschool children ages four & five.   Parent stays with child.  Each class will be approximately 45 minutes.  Stories, singing and activities.  Pre-registration is mandatory.  Class size is limited .  Groups will meet Thursday mornings at 9:00 or 10:30.  Please call 801.476.5311 to register. 

 Basic Sign Language

 This 4-week series is a great opportunity for ages 0 and up to learn some sign language.  This fun class is taught in a “parent with child” style, but everyone is welcome with or without a child.  Mondays, Sept. 18, 25, and October 2 and 9th.  10:00 – 11:00 A.M.  Teacher: Suzanne Stirland   Register at 801.476.5311. 

 Children’s Music and Movement 
Free 6-session class where you will sing, play instruments, practice rhythms and get moving with your child aged 0-5.  10:00 – 11:00 A.M.  Monday’s October 16, 23, 30 & November 6, 13, and 20.  Instructor: Suzanne Stirland    Call 801.476.5311 

 Make - n - Take File Folder Games Parent’s night out!  
Leave the kids at home; come enjoy an evening of making file folder games for them.  (Limit 3 per family)  Free!  Supplies provided.  You color and create – we will laminate.  They will be ready to pick up several days later.  Wednesday October 4th  Come when you can, anytime from 5:30 – 8:00 P.M.    Limited seating.  Register at 801.476.5311. 

 Kids and Christmas 
This class will cover ideas on food, fun, and games all centered around kids.  Yummy samples and recipes will be shared.  Free!  Register at 801.476.5311 Wednesday November 29, 2017 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. Presenter: Teresa Hunsaker USU Extension Service
